Pod-parabolă peste Someș – intervenție în spațiu public propusă de Silviu Medeșan în cadrul Orașului Vizibil 2014

Această instalaţie vine ca răspuns la tema dată de programul de artă în spaţiu public lansat de AltArt anul acesta: cum negociem la nivel urban bunurile publice? Lucrarea constă în re-trasarea traiectoriei Podului Nemţilor cu ajutorul unui pod simbolic îngheţat. Provocat artificial cu ajutorului unui furtun cu apă suspendat deasupra Somesului, podul-parabolă se va materializa natural cu aportul vremii de afară.
Acest gest vine în continuarea intervenţiilor care ţin de dorinţa de a re-lega firesc elementele naturale şi culturale care sunt definitorii pentru Clujul contemporan: Piaţa Muzeului, instituţia culturală independentă (simbolizată de Casa Tranzit în acest caz), râul Somes şi Dealul Cetăţuii. Acest traseu este de o importanţă simbolică pentru Cluj, nu pentru că apelează la un dialog nostalgic cu istoria, ci pentru că devine o metaforă pentru caracterul (multi)cultural al oraşului pe care îl trăim astăzi. Podul materializat în gheaţă se află în contrast direct cu Focul lui Denis Tricot (Foc peste Someș în cadrul programului Tranz-art in situ, 2000), făcând un nou apel la reconsiderarea relaţiilor oraşului cu râul, a spaţiului privat cu cel public, acum când direcţiile urbanismului pentru viitorii 10 ani în Cluj sunt dezbătute în Primărie.

Parabola-híd a Szamoson – köztéri beavatkozás a Látható Város 2014 projekt keretében

Az installáció a köztéri művészet témájában megfogalmazott válasz kíván lenni az AltArt idei kérdésfelvetésére: hogyan egyezkedünk/egyeztetünk városi szinten a közjavakról?
Egy megfagyott híd jelképét használva az alkotás az egykori Németek Pallójának nyomvonalát jelöli újra. A parabola-híd a Szamos két partja között kifeszített víztömlő, amely a levegő hőmérséklének köszönhetően fog testet ölteni.
Az alkotás azokat a köztéri beavatkozásokat kívánja folytatni, amelyekben újra összekapcsolódnak a jelenkori Kolozsvár meghatározó terei és kulturális elemei: a Karolina tér, a Tranzit Ház, a Kis-Szamos és a Fellegvár.
Ennek az útvonalnak elsősorban nem a múlttal való nosztalgikus párbeszéd miatt van aktualitása, hanem azért, mert a jelenkori város multikulturális arculatának a metaforájaként olvasható.
A jég formájában alakot öltő híd szöges ellentétben áll Denis Tricot égő hídjával (ami Tűz a Szamoson címmel – a Tranz-art in situ projekt keretében, 2000-ben jött létre), és a városnak a folyóval és a köztérnek a privát szférával való viszonyának az újragondolására késztet. Teszi mindezt egy olyan pillanatban, amikor a következő 10 év városrendezésének irányvonalairól nyilvános vita folyik.

Parable – bridge over the Someș River – intervention in the public space by Silviu Medeșan within The Visible City 2014

This instalation comes as a response to the topic of art in the public space program launched this year by AltArt: how do we negotiate the public goods on the urban level ? The work consists in re-tracing the trajectory of the Germans Bridge with the help of a symbolic frozen bridge. Caused artificially by using a water hose suspended over the Someș River, the parable-bridge will naturally materialize with the intake of the weather outside.

This gesture is a continuation of the interventions related to the desire to re-link the cultural and natural elements that are characteristic of the contemporary Cluj: The Museum Square, the independent cultural institution (symbolized by Tranzit House in this case), the Somes River and the Cetatuia Hill. This route is of symbolic importance for Cluj, not only because it uses a nostalgic dialogue with history, but also because it becomes a metaphor for the (multi)cultural character of the city that we live in today. The frozen bridge is in direct contrast with the fire of Denis Tricot (Fire on the Somes River – Virtual Bridge, within the Tranz Art in Situ – the Rehabilitation of Public Space program in 2000), making a new call to reconsider the relations of the city with the River, the relations of the private and the public space, now that the directions of urban planning, for the next 10 years, are discussed within the Cluj City Hall.
